WHERE

Choshen Farm’s current base of operations is FIMPULU, Zambia.

Mansa in Luapula

Fimpulu is a rural farming community with a 10k radius including 400 or so people. The land itself is a mixture of cultivated and indigenous bush. There is a single tar road running through Fimpulu with off-shooting, bush-paths leading to family compounds. A school and a clinic are the two major structures in the village. The families of Fimpulu live in mud-brick huts with grass-thatched roofs. There is no electricity or running water in Fimpulu. The main mode of transportation for people is bicycle. Subsistence farming is the principle occupation of nearly all Fimpulu residents, with main crops being maize, cassava, beans, and peanuts. Several churches exist in Fimpulu, creating a social hub for the village. Choshen Farm’s immediate neighbors are found in “Center” a sub-village of Fimpulu under the direction of Headman Chabwe.

Choshen Farm is committed to working in this particular location for at least the next five years.
